Connecting your Facebook Page to Quad Cities Food Trucks
Many food trucks already post where they'll be on Facebook. Quad Cities Food Trucks can use your Page as one source that helps keep your listing current. Connecting your Page is optional and is currently part of a pilot with a limited number of trucks.
Information we may already use
When you give us your website or Facebook Page address, Quad Cities Food Trucks may use what those pages show publicly -- the same information any customer sees visiting them. We read the page; we never sign in as you, and this needs nothing from you.
Connecting your Page through Facebook's official authorization is a separate, optional step that lets us read your Page's posts directly and more reliably than public information alone.
How connecting works
- Include your Facebook Page when you request a listing.
- If you'd like to connect it, we email you a single-use invitation link.
- You sign in through Facebook, choose which Page to connect, and authorize read-only access.
- An administrator reviews and approves the connection before it is used.
Is connecting Facebook required?
No. You can request and manage your listing without connecting a Facebook Page.
Why would I connect my Page?
Connecting means less duplicate work for you. It lets Quad Cities Food Trucks read your Page's posts directly and more reliably than public information alone, so your listing can stay current without you having to enter the same updates twice.
We will never ask for your Facebook password, an authentication code, or an access token. Authorization happens on Facebook's own sign-in screen -- not a form on our site.
What information does Quad Cities Food Trucks use?
From a connected Page, we use the posts on your Page: the text of each post, when it was posted, a link back to it on Facebook, and any images attached to it.
We do not request:
- messages;
- comments or reactions;
- follower or audience lists;
- advertising data; or
- anything from your personal Facebook profile.
Does connecting give Quad Cities Food Trucks control of my Page?
No. Access is read-only. We never ask for permission to publish, edit, or delete anything on your Page, and we cannot do any of those things. You choose which Page to connect, you remain its owner and administrator, and you can remove our access at any time.
Does everything I post automatically appear on my listing?
No. A connection is reviewed and approved before it is used, and not every post is relevant to a listing.
Can I still update my listing myself?
Yes. A Facebook connection supplements owner management -- it does not replace it. You can still review and update your listing directly at any time.
What if I don't use Facebook?
That's fine -- connecting Facebook is never required. A business website can also be a source, and you can manage your listing information directly either way.
How do I disconnect?
You can revoke Quad Cities Food Trucks' access at any time through your Facebook or Meta settings. Revoking access stops future retrieval through that connection, but it is separate from asking us to delete information already associated with it -- see the Data Deletion page for what to include in that request.
What am I agreeing to?
Truck owners agree to a short plain-language truck owner agreement covering what we show, what we read to keep your schedule current, and how to leave.
Email info@quadcitiesfoodtrucks.com and we're happy to walk through it with you.
